PCMC News: Tech Corps To Monitor JNNURM Projects

PUNE: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has set up a 14-member team of citizens and experts from various fields to give suggestions and monitor the projects being implemented in the township under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Constituted this month, the City Volunteer Technical Corps’ (CVTC) will meet once in two months. The role of the CVTC will be to advise and provide support to the municipal corporation and the city sanctioning and monitoring committee on technical aspects related to city management. The objective is to help accelerate the pace of programme implementation by involving all stake holders. The CVTC will also help mobilise support of the civil society and the elected representatives for reforms in urban governance and programme implementation.
