PMC Vs. PCMC: A Way Out Of The Metro Mess

PUNE: A huge project like the metro railway, two municipal corporations bickering over its cost, several NGOs opposing it and political parties vying for credit. It is no wonder that the mass transit project spanning Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad is taking a long time to get on track.
A way out of this logjam has been suggested by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) that submitted the detailed project report (DPR) for the metro to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). It has asked the state government to take the lead and resolve the differences between the Pune and the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporations about sharing costs for the proposed PCMC-Swargate route.
