Second Round Of PCMC Development Plan Hearing On Oct 16
(TNN, Oct 6, 2010)
PUNE: The second phase of public hearing to offer suggestions and objections on changes in the development plan (DP) of the merged villages in Pimpri-Chinchwad is on October 16.
Sadhana Naik, deputy director, town planning, Pune division said that the hearing will be held at the department’s office near Bank of Maharashtra’s Sahakarnagar branch.
“As many as 1,690 suggestions and objections were received regarding the changes proposed in the DP in July. Most suggestions and objections were about the rivers’ floodlines, buffer zones around Punawale and Moshi garbage depots,” Naik said.
Individual suggestions and objections were submitted about the changes proposed by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning (MRTP) Act, 1966.
“These are related to 118 proposed changes in the DP reservations concerning cancellation of roads, change in alignment of roads, reallocation of reservations and others,” she said.
The public hearing was conducted at Acharya Atre auditorium in Pimpri in the first phase. The second phase will be conducted in Pune. Notices have been sent in advance to those who submitted the suggestions and objections.
The first DP of PCMC was approved by the state government in 1995. The state government merged 18 villages into the PCMC’s limits in 1997. The civic body has prepared the draft DP for these villages and sent it to the state government for approval. The state government has given partial approval to the DP this year.
